Conditions Which Generate This Code:
The Engine has been running for 60 seconds and the Electronic Control Module (ECM) has identified a
restriction of the Fuel Filter.
System Response:
→The ECM will log the Event.
→The Caterpillar Electronic Technician (ET) will display "No Engine Speed" and "Injection Disabled" on the Status Flags screen.
→The Engine is Shutdown.
→This Event Code indicates a restriction in the Fuel Filter.

Test Step 1. Replace the Fuel Filter
A. Perform a visual inspection: Fuel supply, and Fuel lines.
B. Replace the Engine's Fuel Filter. Prime the Fuel system.
C. Start the Engine. Use CAT ET to check for another occurrence of the Event.
Expected Result: The Event does not recur.
→OK - STOP
→Not OK - The ECM is detecting an abnormal Fuel Pressure in the Fuel system.

Test Step 2. Monitor the Fuel Pressure
A. Monitor the Fuel Pressure using CAT ET on Status screen, or through CAT Messenger/ Murphy display. Read More: Status Tool on Caterpillar ET Software.
→The typical Fuel Pressure of the Engine at operating temperature can vary. At Low Idle, the Fuel Pressure can be 538 kPa (78 psi). At High rpm, the Fuel Pressure can be 641 kPa (93 psi).

#Trip points for the Monitoring System
The Monitoring System determines the level of action that is taken by the Electronic Control Module (ECM) in response to a condition that can damage the Engine. When any of these conditions occur, the appropriate Event Code will trip.
