In order to set the electronic Engine governor, or to read out data, the MTU dialog system DiaSys is necessary, and has the following components:
A laptop with DiaSys software and a CAN controller (Ixxat USB-to-CAN v2).
A connecting cable for connecting to the system in which the Engine governor is integrated (to SAM dialog connector).

1). Select Type of activity
Selects the Type of activity (user group). The number of users available for selection may vary depending on the level of the active hardware key. The functions provided by the DiaSys program depend on the type of activity selected.

2). Select Type of unit
Selects the type of unit. This window is only active when "No default type of unit" is selected in the Options window. For support with the selection of the correct type of unit, a picture of a corresponding unit is displayed by the pressing the button with the camera icon. By movement of the mouse pointer over the picture or after at the latest 10 seconds the picture is again faded out.

3). Modify Unit's assembly description
Allows creation of a new unit's assembly description and opening or editing (e.g. deleting) existing ones. Opening a unit's assembly description is a basic requirement for working with DiaSys. The 'Options' button allows e.g. the DiaSys language to be toggled between German or English.

New unit's assembly description
Creating a new unit's assembly description involves assigning one or more Engine numbers to a specific order number. The DiaSys program automatically creates directories in which data are stored. The window below which allows an Engine number to be entered appears on clicking the New button:

4). For working in Online mode
→Create datalink to controller
a). Select the Establish datalink to controller...

b). When the controller is connected it is addressed via a CAN-Bus 1 and linked to an Engine number. Mark on Establish online connection and clicking the Ok button.
